Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

One of my favorite classes at Ole Miss. Carey is a great teacher and really wants students to learn. Everyone should try to take this class because it is so helpful, especially if you want kids.

    Course highlights:

Lots of real life projects that help enforce concepts from class. Taught us a lot about different parenting styles.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you read!!! She will ask questions and you will need to know the answers. Plus the information is useful for life. Make sure you do the projects in advance because it takes time.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is great for anyone wanting to learn the ins and outs of parenting. This teaches you about the development of children and how parents should react to situations at those life stages. It gives you hands on opportunities to learn- through essays, diagnosis, and interactions with children. If you enjoy this class, you can also try to work in the Cub Lab also directed by Dr. Dowling.

    Course highlights:

A great knowledge not only of myself (what i would do differently as a parent compared to my parents) but of how to be a potential parent in the future.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

If you are considering getting a Masters or Doctorate in Psychology this is a great class for you. It is easy to get an A if you do the study guides and prep each night for the quizzes. Take it early on and you can join Dr. Dowling's lab either as a work-study, volunteer, or as your mandatory lab credit. Actually helping in the lab would look great on your resume for Psych programs.
