    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Andy Weist is more knowledgeable than most history professors I have encountered. He has an excess of personal background experience and has a true passion for history. To anyone who is intrigued by history and wants to learn directly from a valid source, I would highly recommend this course - but not without warning. Be prepared to work hard and study hard! This is not an easy course.

    Course highlights:

This course was based around the history of societies around the world from approx 1500-current. It is considered a modern history course. Dr. Weist covered everything from the Mughal societies of late modern India to the more recent affairs of Afghanistan.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Manage your time! This course requires an excess of time dedicated solely to studying! The class consists of quizzes, exams, written essays, and a book report to be completed on a book that Dr. Weist wrote himself. Prepare yourself before each week of class and ensure that you have set aside a sufficient amount of time for your coursework.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend because the teacher was very interesting to listen to. A lot of opportunities to correct papers was offered. You have to pay attention in class and attend meetings to do well.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed the civil war portion of this course. The teacher was very passionate about this subject and it was great to get additional knowledge about times when race was a huge factor.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not miss his class. Pay attention and study. He makes you write an essay on each test, be specific.
