    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it allows nurses the opportunity to be involved politically and build confidence. I feel without this experience, far less nurses would attempt to advocate for their profession in the legislative arena.

    Course highlights:

I learned that legislators are interested in what nurses have to say. I also learned that legislator rely on nurses to provide professional information as an expert on the nursing field.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to discuss a nursing concern with non-medical professionals.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

As a master prepared nurse it is important to know how an individual can influence healthcare laws. This course introduced the student into Healthcare laws and policies and what we can do to get a policy changed. I have learned a lot by completing this class from how to start the process of changing a policy to introducing a new policy in my community.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot by taking this class. I now know how the process works of introducing a new policy and even had to come up with a policy in my community that i would like to change. The highlight for this course was that we had to go and talk to a policy maker and introduce our policy change.
