    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course if you are a nursing student at Chamberlain College of Nursing because it is a requirement and you learn the basic foundation of "how to" assess your future patients.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was the end of course live Head to Chest Check-off. Through that assessment you really refelct on how much you have learned. Its mind-blowing!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study AHEAD, watch you-tube videos of any specific return demonstrations that you have to perform

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would absolutely recommend this course because it teaches both therapeutic communication with patients, as well as how to successfully complete a head-to-chest assessment. It is the first stepping stone into the nursing process and it is so exciting to learn.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were learning about the different body systems and their abnormalities in lecture, and then how to look for them and identify them in lab. Learning about the material in class is fun, but applying it in lab hands-on is so exciting.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Although this course is required, I would recommend taking it even if it was not. Going into this course, I would recommend being prepared to study both the text and notes for several hours every week. If you do not put the time into your studies, you will not get the grade you want coming out. More importantly, though, you will not have a solid foundation of the beginnings of the nursing process.
