    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is an essential class for any Biology or Psychology students. It thoroughly examines how the human brain functions, brain chemistry and anatomy, and the biological basis of mental disorders, such as Alzheimer's.

    Course highlights:

I learned about how drugs, medicine, and trauma affect the brain. I learned about neurons, glial cells, and synaptic transmission (how neurons communicate).

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Students taking this course have to go to the professor's office hours or support sessions, they have to study for the class every day, and they need to attend every class. If students do this, they will succeed in the course.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Allen cares for his students success. He also is passionate about Bio Psych and wants to make it as interesting as possible, which is pretty easy because its a fascinating subject. He makes the subject tangible and relates it to various interesting article i.e, "Oreo's are as addicting as crack cocaine".

    Course highlights:

This course focused on how the brain functions and how that affects behavior, diseases, and appetite. The main thing I learned was how the brain is like a well oiled machine, although it is elastic, if something is off or not working it can really effect those three things that I mentioned earlier.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take notes on what he says that are not on the slides, take the quizzes seriously, go to office hours and go over your notes at least once after class. These things helped me a lot and studying what I got wrong on the quizzes became a huge resource for me before taking the tests. Going over my notes helped me retain the information and allowed me to store it into long term memory instead of immediately forgetting what I learned.
