    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Anybody taking this course is most likely required to for their major. With that being said, it is still not a bad class. The content is harder than chem 1, but the different structure of this class makes it easier overall than chem 1. Pericles is a great professor and you feel like you learned something beneficial after every lecture. You also only need an 80% for an A so if you passed chem 1 with a C or better, getting at least a B should be no problem for you in this course. Your lowest homework and clicker quiz grades are also dropped at the end of the semester so there is a slight curve which helps.

    Course highlights:

The basis of chem 2 is taking the concepts learned in chem 1 and using them to introduce students to topics such as thermodynamics and electrochemistry. This class also strengthened my problem solving skills more than any class I have taken so far at Rolla.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to every lecture because there are clicker quizzes. The quizzes are very similar to test questions, so actually work them out yourself and don't just get the answers from those around you. He releases old exams to help you study, and they do not change much from year to year, so make sure you take them a few times before the actual exam. Also, the homework can be much harder than the exams. There will be times that you have no idea what you are doing on the homework, but don't worry about it. Most have the homework has nothing in common with the questions on the exam.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It was a very tough class, and not totally due to the material, but due to the quantity of the students taking it and the way the professors handle it. Would not recommend if it weren't mandatory.

    Course highlights:

Learned a lot about chemistry and have nomenclature burned into my brain.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to any possible chance to get bonus points, that usually means LEAD, so GO, it's only a half hour and can be a grade-saver.
