    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The Freshman Engineering Program is designed to help first year students build a solid foundation for their engineering education. It also provides orientation, peer mentoring, tutoring and supplemental instruction, academic advising, basic career advising, and academic skills development

    Course highlights:

The main purpose of the Freshman Engineering course is to help future engineers and undecided students decide which field of engineering would best suit them. The course brings in current students from their fields of engineering and those students talk about their field and what they do in the course. The class helped me finally decide what field of engineering I would want to be a part of.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The class assignments are quizzes of each field in engineering. there are videos that com with the quizzes and an easy way to do well in the class is to watch the videos carefully and take notes during the videos. If you pay attention during class and finish the assignments on time you shall do well in the class.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I recommend it because it is an easy requirement to get out of the way as soon as you declare an engineering major at S&T. The professors that teach it have great knowledge to share within their own subjects of mastery and know plenty about other subjects as well. Learning about each engineering path will allow students to discover which track is exactly perfect for him or her.

    Course highlights:

Each class (every two weeks) the students learn more about what each type of engineer does, how their time looks in college, and what career paths they may take. Every class is required so the student learns more about each of the possible paths within engineering to better identify with one (or more if you're very ambitious).

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class, getting docked points for skipping class is not worth it! An A is very achievable if you take your quizzes on time, submit the little amounts of homework assigned, and take the quizzes on time.
