Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Dimmit has the utmost respect for her students, and is very knowledgeable in her field. She uses her experience with counseling people to help provide examples of different disorders she has seen.

    Course highlights:

She makes you do a case study where you create a person and diagnose them with a mental disorder. In the last part of the case study, she brings in one of her former students and allows them to act like they have a disorder for the class to diagnose. It is a great way for students to have a somewhat hands-on experience to apply what they have learned all semester.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read through the chapter as well as all of your notes. She allows one sheet of paper (front only) of notes for students to use on the test, but she checks and signs all of them

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it was extremely interesting. It was challenging but not overly too much and Professor Dimmit was great

    Course highlights:

I learned about many different mental disorders. I made a case study and had 5 different tests.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to actually read the book. A lot of the test information was stuff that we did not go over during the class periods

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I really enjoy this class and the way that the class is set up. When in class, the lectures are very fun and the teacher is always including students in her discussion. The tests are challenging yet hold a lot of helpful information in order for you to come out of that class satisfied.

    Course highlights:

I learned how psychology can be abnormal, and I learned how different disorders contain different things and how to go about them. I think because of the rise in mental illness in the recent years, this class should be taken by more students to help them understand rather than trying to avoid.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready and excited to learn! The learning is endless, and if you are a psychology major like me, then you will be able to use the things you learn in the class to assist you in your other classes.
