This class was tough.
This class focus on the "behind the scenes" of marketing and promotions. We are so accustomed to being marketed to, we don't often realize how much research is being done on us. There is so much research, color schemes, placement, and media channel decisions that go into, what many consider, one simple add.
The highlights from this course for me include a paper on Gender Roles. It really opened my eyes into just how gender sides ads, commercials, and billboards all are. It makes you take notice to any magazine, newspaper, etc. you pick up. Whether it is the colors being used, who is the main focus of the ad, what type of media you are looking at. It is a really eye-opening course.
