Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it helps give an overview of the first five books of the Bible, while allowing you to get background information and piece together the early story of Israel. Ultimately it helps you better understand the Pentateuch and why it is so important

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course for me was reading through all of the books. This was significant because it familiarized me with crucial Old Testament texts and allowed me to engage stories I had never heard before or had only heard once or twice. I learned that the Old Testament is not to be forgotten even in New Testament times.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Work hard, read the recommended reading, and make sure to look at the study guide. If you do this you will succeed and the class will definitely be worth it.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Bob Witte is a fantastic teacher! He has an unmistakable love for God and the Old Testament. He is passionate about the different events discussed in this class and he offers a lot of extra credit!

    Course highlights:

I loved hearing the song of the day every morning, earning "Bob Bucks" and hearing the threat of "Oh, you know where you'll go" if you lie to him. He is a huge joker and he makes learning fun. He yells in class when he gets overly passionate and he is all around a swell professor. I learned that Sunday school teaches almost nothing about the Old Testament. They teach the stories but they phase out the brutality and idolatry that was a part of the Old Testament.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not take this class if you do not understand sarcasm. Do the memory work early. Start on the research paper early. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Bob is a phenomenal professor and his classes are always extremely enjoyable. Some days they can get a little awkward with the bible stories we have discussions and questions over. The work load is light but the information and learning is incredibly heavy and rich. I would HIGHLY recommend taking as many classes with Bob as possible.

    Course highlights:

What I enjoyed most about his class was how personal he was with the students. He made a real effort to try and help us wherever he could, as long as it was obvious that we actually cared about our grade in his class. I learned a lot about the history and customs of Ancient Israel, like how they would pray and how often they would eat, as well as details on all 13 tribes.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the homework, ad always be prepared for the memory works. Study as much as you can and be as thorough in your studies as possible for the tests.
