Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
This course is required for most degree seeking students, but it's the teacher that makes all the difference! I was really worried about the difficulty of the class, but it was very manageable. Ms. White is an amazing teacher!! She explains things so clearly, and is very patient to answer any questions. She is extremely flexible if you need extra help, and she goes out of her way to ensure her students understand the material.!
Course highlights:
One thing I liked the most (some people hate it the most) is the use of the Aleks program. This program, though at times can be confusing, ultimately helped me to do ALL of my homework, and to understand how to do it. It's really easy to make A's on the assignments, since you can repeat the assignment to increase your grade as many times as you want.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
Practice, practice, practice! Do the homework, and do the extra practice problems. Do it 2 or 3 times a week if you can. In doing so, you'll find it's easier to retain the information, and tests will be a breeze!
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
I would advise any student that can to take College algebra while still in high school. While taking this course while in high school, I have my high school teachers that give me one on one help when needed and I also get both a college credit and a high school credit for taking this course.
Course highlights:
I have learned that taking online college courses are harder do to the fact that you do not have a teacher teaching you. You must read and try to figure out the problems on your own. You can email that teacher questions if you have any, but I have found that my high school math teachers are more than willing to help me when need be.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
Find a study partner that you can do your homework with. It seems to be easier when you are both working together to figure out problems.
Pretty easy, overall.
Course Overview:
I would recommend this course because college algebra is a class that is usually required for any 4 year degree. It may be beneficial to take this course before transferring to another school. I also loved this course because it had the flexibility of an online class but it also made the material easy to learn.
Course highlights:
The highlights of the course were that it was taught online but it was taught so well that it was not difficult and the teacher was always available to help.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
Do all of the homework and ask for help when you need it.
