    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This professor is exceptionally smart and extremely knowledgeable about chemistry. This is actually the reason I would not recommend him for the introductory course. His lectures are very monotone and there is little discourse with the students, it is as if he is talking at you, not to you. He doesn't explain concepts in a clear manner for students who don't have very much experience with chemistry. Mr. Crain is a little awkward and not very approachable.

    Course highlights:

Mr. Crain's chemistry jokes are lame, but they are funny. He is very intelligent and well organized. He is also very passionate about chemistry. I learned that my learning style requires a teacher that cares as much about the student as he or she does the subject he or she teaches. I also learned at the end of the class that I knew more than I than I thought.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to the tutoring center and get help when at the first sign of misunderstanding. Make time for this class, because you will need to do most of the learning on your own. Get a study group together and work through the things you aren't getting.
