    | Would highly recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I loved this course. The professor made the class fun and not just some boring lecture. He also made sure that you had the opportunity to ask questions. If you needed any help, he would always try his best to answer your questions.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about accounting, that I had no idea of before. The professor actually showed us some of the computer programs that are used, and it was just overall very interesting.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention in class! Take good notes! Most of what he writes out on the board, you will see again on the test.

    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend taking this course, especially with Dr. Hamm because she teaches in a fun way, which keeps students' attention. All while making the class enjoyable, Dr. Hamm teaches accounting in a way that has helped me gain a better understanding of real world accounting principles.

    Course highlights:

Dr. Hamm taught me the basics of accounting in a very effective, yet fun way. From creating Income Statements and Balance Sheets, to posting accounts to the Ledger, Dr. Hamm knows the subject very well and does a GREAT job of sharing her knowledge in an understandable way with her students.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are the type of person who skips class often, I would not recommend this course. Everyday is something new in accounting. However, going to class and learning the material will only help you in the long run. While some of it may not seem important, I can guarantee you will see some of these concepts at some point in your life. AC 291 is a great course, especially for students seeking a degree in the college of business.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor had a deep understanding of the course material, however the material was not presented in a medium that was particularly easy to grasp or even take notes from. Not ideal for note-takers.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the upkeep of accounting journals and how to record accruals and deferrals. Before this course I could not decipher the least bit of accounting, now I can not only read a journal, but I can write one as well.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I am very much a note taker, but Barksdale hardly runs that way. I benefited from going over the notes she wrote on the board and would have excelled with a Khan Academy style lesson to match hers, but the chapters in the book sufficed for me.
