    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I do not particularly recommend this course. It is required, and I did learn a few things, but it was very difficult and I feel that the level of difficulty was too much for an introductory class.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to write three different types of papers. I wrote about a personal experience, a research paper, and a portfolio.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are going to take this class, do every extra credit assignment. Pay attention to deadlines, and read the chapters in the book even though it is not required.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course helped me to learn how to better write essays for college. It's a good introductory course for college classes because it's not easy, but it's also not impossible.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to write essays more effectively, because after you turn in a paper, the feedback you receive is helpful and evaluative. I also learned that you have to be responsible and keep up with deadlines, because I missed one once.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say to check the assignments every day. My biggest problem was that I would forget that we had essays to turn in, so make it a habit of checking to see what the homework is every day. Also, make sure and talk to the teacher if you don't understand something, because he will help.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Great in a small class setting where everyone is able to discuss key concepts to this area of writing.

    Course highlights:

Very funny, informative, and helpful through all stages of the writing process.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Three big essays, a few small exercises and readings, a lot of class discussion, and a final portfolio.
