    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this course if the student is not absolutely enthralled with chemistry and is willing to dedicate hours pouring over details of what is truly university-level material. There is also a huge and overwhelming amount of material to learn.

    Course highlights:

I gained a better understanding of how I learn and that you can't choose a class based solely on what you're good at, but you also have to have great passion to select a Higher Level course in the DP. With all of that being said, it was a very interesting course, and I did learn a lot about chemistry.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study daily and during the summer between junior and senior years. Stay positive, and know that you cannot learn everything without damaging your mental and physical health.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is a very challenging course that covers material at a level that is not appropriate for the high school level. There is also far too much information to learn. Instruction is also very limited.

    Course highlights:

This course forced linking of knowledge and understanding between topics and constant revision.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study thoroughly and continue to study old and new material throughout the course.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is too challenging and presents too much information for the level that it supposedly follows. Course instruction was also not handled in a professional and optimal level.

    Course highlights:

This course covers a broad range of topics from stoichiometry to organic chemistry and challenges beliefs of chemistry while pushing students to develop their understanding of multiple topics and linking between topics.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study whenever you can and ALWAYS study new material as soon as you get it and repeatedly throughout the course.
