    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

There is no escape. You absolutely have to be a good, proactive student in this class and read ahead. That is the only way to understand the subject as he teaches it. He writes excellent on-board notes. If you are a good note taker, this will be an asset to you.

    Course highlights:

At the end of the day, I loved biochemistry because his class forced me to eat, sleep, and live the subject. Eventually, I saw beauty in it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read. The. Figures. The pictures are your asset. Take notes on them and also use the section summaries. The book has way too much text to read it all.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you are a good student who will read ahead and take good class notes, you will do well. He writes A Lot of info on the board. To keep up and understand, do your best to read ahead.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to be hungry about success. Biochemistry is hard and the class itself, with Dr Anderson, was also hard. But I started eating, sleeping, and breathing biochem and all of a sudden the class started getting better. I learned perseverance from the difficulty.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read ahead of the teacher. And don't expect it to be easy or to be spoon-fed to you. Expect it to be specific and detailed.
