Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It its required to take discourse at UMKC and I would recommend this course mainly because of the teacher. He is younger so many students connect to professors because of that. He might grade a little hard but he teaches you what to do and how to do better.

    Course highlights:

I didn't really learn how to analyze in high school, somewhere they just skipped it and expected you to be able to do it. He taught me how to analyze better.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the work and do the readings. There are discussions over them and sometimes that is just what the class is, nothing but discussing the reading and how it compares to what we have been discussing in class. There are a couple papers and a project at the end, and he gives you the chance to redo your papers for a better grade so always do those. There are also speeches but the information would come directly from the papers you write.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Beneficial for any type of communication. This course helped me improve my public speaking skills and gave me better insight on how to write papers. These are two very, I repeat VERY useful tools as you go further into college and into the business world.

    Course highlights:

The teacher was definitely the highlight of this class. He is laid back, fair, and intelligent. He taught us how to better our essays and speeches through numerous tips; using sense language, statistics, dialogue, quotes, anecdote, figurative language language, repetition, and stories. The most valuable asset I attained from this class was experience. It is easy to talk about doing something, but this class gives you the opportunity to do these things in a friendly attentive environment.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to do some research. Do not try to make a perfect draft the first time, but get something on paper and try to revise it.
