    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

With only having two tests as your entire grade, Dr. Pruitt will definitely make you work for an A. Pruitt is a fantastic teacher that is very skilled at class engagement. Dr. Pruitt made a relatively uninteresting course very appealing and "cool". Out of the entire finance department, Dr. Pruitt is hands down the best teacher to take a finance course from.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to calculate long term investments as well as how to mitigate risk by avoid costly investments. In class we worked on multi step equations, which included using MACRS based depreciation to calculate the Net Present Value of a Company's investment into new production tactics. We learned how to calculate the weighted average cost of capital by examining a firms capital structure. Other topics that we learned to calculate were the Equivalent Annual Annuity of a project, the Modified Internal Rate of Return, the Payback as well as Discounted Payback of a project, the EAR. We also learned how to account for long term depreciation by using methods taught by Dr. Stephan Pruitt.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study everything Dr. Pruitt gives you. Don't miss a day of class and be on top of your game.
