Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because for the BSN program at Clarkson it is required. This course is the foundation for your nursing career. You will learn all of the basics and be introduced to several nursing skills.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to suction a tracheostomy, insert a catheter, Iv injections, sub q injection, head to toe assessment, medical terminology and focused on each system individually.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay on top of the course work. This class has a lecture and a clinical combined so there is always something to study for. Buy the fundamentals to success book (doesn't come in bundle) and answer questions from the book before test. Go over your exams with the instructor right after taking them.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is a foundational course for the nursing profession. If you take this course and do not enjoy the content, then maybe nursing is not for you.

    Course highlights:

In this course I learned a lot of the basic foundational skills of nursing. These skills were learned in an environment where we could do them over and over again until we got them right. The mannequins never died so it was an excellent starting point.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell students taking this course to make sure you read the material and ask questions when you have them. Application questions are much different from your typical right and wrong questions. The professors are there to help!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it is a good starting point in a nursing career.

    Course highlights:

I learned that I do not need to be afraid to ask questions, someone else is thinking the same thing or they will like the question. Next i learned that I should review every quiz and every test with my teachers.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

    Study everything and review quizzes.
