Meetings Outside of Class
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
This class is required by every incoming freshman. This class prepares you for success in all of your classes as you transition into college. FYE is broken up into small class sizes for maximum comfort and connection with both your professor and classmates. Here we are encourages to talk up in class and meet the rest of our classmates. We also had to write weekly journals and send them to our professor. He would personally read these and respond to each of them in a timely manor. We could also let him know about concerns and anything else that was going on. I still have a friendship with this professor and many other students who were in this class with me.
One of the highlights of this course was how relaxed it was. This does not mean we did not have any course work, but how comfortable each student was to share with each other. I looked forward coming to this class every day!

Advice for students:
Do not write this class off as something you have to do. This is a tool that will teach you how to get ahead in other classes. Here is where you can take all the questions you have as incoming students and take them here and not be afraid to share them. You are all in the same boat as the other students. Speak up! You probably all have the same questions and are too scared to ask them. Take advantage of this class and how to make your college experience your own!
