Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it gives students time in the labs, giving them experience, as well as allowing for them to work in teams to come to a final conclusion. This class requires patience and perseverance because of the tedious work that goes on in the labs.

    Course highlights:

I learned what biophages are and what they do as well as how to be able to purify samples through steps. I also learned how to distinguish what is a plaque and what is not. My favorite part of the course what when we got to see out final phage under the microscope and be able to identify it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell them to mark important places in your lab manual. Also have patience, things don't always go the way that you want them to. Another thing that I would recommend would be to always partake in lab because it gives you experience. Finally, always go in on open lab outside of class to get work done.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

If you are a biology or chemistry major, it is a required course. This course has necessary information that will help with higher/more difficult classes as you move through school.

    Course highlights:

This was an introduction class to biology. It started with learning the basic units of biology, and built from there. The majority of the class was lecture, but the labs that went along with it were usually hands on and interesting.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take good notes during lecture. Use notecards for vocabulary if necessary. Use your lab book when studying, a lot of test/exam questions come from the labs.
