    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It's a mandatory course for all biosystems engineering majors, but if your adviser finds a way around it, first, thank them, then get as far from BSEN 112 as you can. At the end of the semester, the professor expects you to be a Matlab genius. I went in for office hours on every assignment, the professor walked us through every step, and I still didn't get even a 90% on the projects. Not the easy A I was expecting from a class the mostly covers easy material. The graders are far from lenient.

    Course highlights:

Spent the whole first third of the semester focusing on engineering problem solving methods, most of the second third on excel, and the final third is trying to cram Matlab down your throat.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Check and double check all of your work for stupid mistakes. They will cost you big time when final grades roll around.
