    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

    great professor always helps students

    Course highlights:

I gained a better understanding of chemistry and how chemical reactions work

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

always ask question if you have them and even if you don't just to be clear

    | Would recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The material is fairly basic and similar to most chemistry courses in high school. However, sometimes the way the book or professor explains can be tough to grasp.

    Course highlights:

The course had some really fun labs. The general subjects, thermochemistry, reactions, electron configuration, and chemical bonding were relatively easy to comprehend. Thermo can be a struggle, but if you work enough problems, it can be easier to understand. I did get to go deeper into the material I learned in high school and the demos helped me a lot.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book! The book can be very helpful. It has a lot of problems that are similar to the homework and it has good examples. Also, use the recitation manual. It can give you a lot of practice for the exam.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a required course for many majors involved in science in any way. My recommendation for the course is to get a good professor. If you get Lawrence Parkhurts, switch it to Kautz or Melina as soon as possible!

    Course highlights:

Chem 109 just goes over the fundamentals of chemistry. This course is not hard to pass, if you have taken any chemistry in high school. It's all basic chemistry that was easy to get through.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Get a good professor! Parkhurst made it hard to follow, and didn't make things clear enough. If you have any knowledge of chemistry, you can get through it even with him as your lecture professor. I would recommend getting Kautz of Melina if you feel like you will struggle with the material.
