Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is a very informational course. It will give you much background in biology. It is a great course for those students wanting to major in biology, for it provides in depth background concepts for future classes.

    Course highlights:

You needed to understand the concepts behind the processes of biology and how one process is connected to others.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to read the book and attend class. Take the practice tests if the TA gives them out, for I found many of the questions reflected similar questions on the test.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommended taking this class with Dr. Osterman because he's the director for the school of Biological Sciences. When he's explaining a concept in class he explains it in a very clear and concise way and he also records all of his lectures and posts them up online.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about cell structures, cell functions, and just general biology. The material wasn't extremely difficult to follow and at the very beginning of the course Dr. Osterman showed us a breakdown of what we should study and an approximation of the percentage of time we should spend on it. It basically showed where the most important information was (Book, homework, quizzes, etc), how much time should be spent studying with that resource, and how it should be used. This was definitely the highlight of the class because it really helped me prioritize while I studied.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study and review very often. Even if the exams don't go well there's a lot of other points that can help make up for it like points for participation, clicker questions, quizzes, and homework.
