    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Very insightful for actuaries going into insurance. Tests are challenging although the practice problems are good for exam preparation.

    Course highlights:

The material is applicable to jobs as an actuary. It was nice to finally take a course with obvious payoff in the workplace.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the practice problems for each exam and pay attention to in-class problems and you won't be too surprised on the exams.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The instructor, Di Xu has graduated from University of Waterloo, Canada. She had spent years of doing her research in this field. Although she has a thick Chinese accent, but she is approachable and will definitely help the students when they need help.

    Course highlights:

This course is focusing on the first part of ExamC, one of the preliminary exam requirement by SOA and CAS. It applies whatever we've learned from ExamP and expand the knowledge from it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

STAT 462 is the pre-requisite for this course. Thus, try to revise the materials before getting in to this class.
