Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because the professor was prepared, enthusiastic and thorough. The class was interesting and connected with several other aspects of life beyond the classroom. Public health was challenging but engaging.

    Course highlights:

There are several highlights of this class. The novel The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks was a part of our curriculum and I enjoyed it. This book described the unethical treatment that occurred in the early 1950s based on the lack of public health. Another highlight of the course was the reading and classroom discussion over the Tuskegee Syphilis study.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

What students need to do to succeed in this course is to attend class each week and participate. The professor often posted the lecture PowerPoints, so the key is to follow along during discussions. A few tips I would give would be to complete each writing assignment because they are worth a large portion of the total grade.
