Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is a very important course for the business major and essential when running a business because whether you are an accountant or not you still need to knowledgable about how accounts, profits, expenses, and assets are handled.

    Course highlights:

Highlights I found in the course were learning how funds are supposed to be handled and what needs to be done in order to calculate if your business is making a profit or taking a loss and being able to recognize that before it is too late.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention from the beginning of the course because the terms and information are the foundation of accounting and everything further builds off of that foundation, so if those principles are not understood the course can be very difficult.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was challenging. But, it was manageable. I'm personally not the best when it comes to math. If you're worried about the math part, don't worry. It is simple formulas, and at least in my class, calculators were allowed. I feel as though only basic math skills are required to succeed.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to create income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and statement of owners equity sheets. I learned about the general rules and principles of accounting, which is to provide the information that is needed for sound economic decision making. And to prepare financial statements for the external world to analyze.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice would be to always take advantage of study groups offered by the professor and teachers assistant, granted there is one. I would also recommend attending the professors office hours if you any questions at all, especially in the beginning, because when it comes to accounting everything builds of each other. So, if you are confused in the beginning, odds are, you are going to continue to be confused throughout the entire course.
