Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It prepares Kelley kids for the rigor of the Business school

    Course highlights:

Getting a right-out-of-the-gate hard class to open my eyes to the reality of college.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The main thing that I struggled with was the timing on the exams. Be careful and prepare for that.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It's a required Kelley course but I'd still recommend it to any field of business major. It is applicable to different areas of study as well- developing skills in computer programs.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to organize spreadsheets and set up databases through Access and Excel.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up with the work. It's not very difficult but it can be a heavy load.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is perceived to be one of the most challenging courses in Indiana University, however; it is extremely beneficial in developing essential computer skills. By the end of this course, I am confident in my Access and Excel knowledge. I know that mastering these skills will prove to be incredibly fruitful in my career.

    Course highlights:

This highlight of this course was practicing queries when learning about the Access. Think of queries as the search engines for your database. By simply inputting information and specifying criteria, you can filter through information to locate the exact bit of data you need. Personally, I felt like a detective when completing queries as I was challenged to find a specific set of data.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My number one piece of advice while taking this course is to STAY ON TOP OF YOUR WORK. It is so easy to fall behind if you do not continually complete the research and exploration sections of the book or attempt the review problems. While this may seem like tedious work, it is all designed to help cement the concepts you have learned in class so remember to complete these preliminary portions on time.
