Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It really helps with getting over any public speaking fears.

    Course highlights:

I learned to not be scared of filming myself, how to properly enunciate (I have a strong Southern accent) and how to outline a speech.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure your speeches are within the required time limit

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The course was very interactive, and was a great introduction to a well needed real life skill.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of the course was getting in front of a crowd of about twenty people, and speaking about a topic I believed in. I learned how to speak to others effectively, how to write a speech, and how to present a topic that was new to me.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I suggest that you join the class if you are able to speak in front of others, otherwise this course might be quite difficult. In order to succeed you mmust be comfortable to speak in front of others, and should be prepared to write speeches.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I appreciated the course for the very detailed, easy to understand breakdown of how to prepare and deliver a speech versus how you would write an academic paper. In theory it sounds like it would be a similar ordeal, but in actuality there are a lot of things to consider. Professor Rowinski provided a lot of resources, prompt answers to questions and detailed feedback throughout the course.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed evaluating other's speeches throughout the module. There was one speech in particular where an actor did everything wrong when delivering her speech. She was passionate but horrible. Then in another speech she was transformed into this exemplary orator. It really demonstrated the importance of all the seemingly small things that go into delivering an effective speech.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Complete your assignments on time so that you can get feedback in enough time to revise them.
