    | No strong feelings either way.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This is basic Java programming but for me I just could not get the concept.

    Course highlights:

I took this class just because I had to and did not really learn anything from it nor do I plan to use Java in the future. Don't get me wrong the class was well organized teacher was great just not for me :-(

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You will also need to use outside resources as well as the book.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is a Java programming class. If the student doesn't understand the basics of Java programming prior to the course, or if the student isn't capable of quickly grasping programming fundamentals, they will quickly fall behind. Taking a basic Java course at CodeAcademy or Udemy will be very helpful prior to taking IT-145.

    Course highlights:

Ultimately I learned that, while somewhat interesting to a degree, Java programming isn't my thing and I've chosen to focus on other languages. That being said, there is tremendous value in learning at least the fundamentals of Java and the final project for this course will certainly hel,p the student put what they've learned to practical use at least once.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take a basic Java programming course before starting IT-145. Udemy.com has several good courses for 10-15 USD that will get you up to speed in a week or two if you put in the time and effort. Alternatively, CodeAcademy.com and YouTube.com offer free Java training.
