Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I loved this class. I was required to take it for my major, but it was truly a pleasure. The required readings were applicable and gave me a lot to think about moving forward in my career. The feedback from my professor was always constructive and practical. It was challenging, and definitely kept me on my toes. I had no complaints and would take the course again if I could!

    Course highlights:

The biggest highlight was having built in editors at your disposal: also known as peer review. If something is majorly wrong with your writing, someone will definitely tell you. Everyone learned how to kindly and honestly critique someone's work.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This class requires critical thinking and writing skills. It is equal parts writing and editing. Try not to be defensive about your own writing, and approach everything with an open mind.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Writing can challenging but Professor Hyatt's class is an easy-paced one and since it's online, you feel open to submitted your honestly written works of fiction to the class for peer review.

    Course highlights:

I learned literary techniques and I learned alot about myself and what I want to write.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to keep up with the project due dates, that's where I went wrong. Be prepared for as much reading as you do writing and have fun!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is a great course to make sure every aspect of your writing is as strong as it can be.

    Course highlights:

Going over each point of writing (plot, dialogue, details, character), individually each week. Reading short stories that empower each point makes it easier to make these aspects shine through in your own writing.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do all the reading. Some of the reading is required for our discussion. However, all the reading helps make you a better writer.
