Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Martens explained everything thoroughly and did not move on until the entire class understood the material. He was always available to help and made Biology fun and interesting. I would recommend to take this course with him.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot of the basics for further Biology courses. A lot of 200 or 300 level courses are based on biology learned in 102. You'll be set for when its time to take higher level courses. He gave a quiz every week to ensure that we were keeping up with the material which made it easier for us when the exam came around.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would definitely study from the powerpoints that he gives. Do not even bother buying the book. Everything that you need will be in the powerpoints. Write down more notes under all of the notes that he already gives you. Work in groups and go to him with any concerns. DO NOT wait until the last minute to study.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Very hands on course, you learn a lot and engage in all of the kingdoms, and even furthermore.

    Course highlights:

Learned a lot about animals which I really enjoyed. I hope to be a marine biologist one day so learning about animals was one of my favorites.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely have to put in what you want to get out of this course. Make sure you study in advanced and don't cram right before a quiz or test.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

MaryAnn Smith is a great and hilarious professor! Biology is such a broad and interesting subject as well.

    Course highlights:

My personal favorite was going through the tree of life and seeing where species evolved from.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Check for assigned reading online, sometimes professors will post articles that can be helpful for in class discussions. I had several in this course.
