    It's important to learn about other cultures.

    Course highlights:

    The struggles other countries face due to their culture and how we as a person should try to help in anyway possible to those less fortunate.

    Advice for students:

    Make sure you read. You will learn a lot about the cultures and issues around the world.

    Course Overview:

    This course was very interesting and engaged students in the food system being practiced around the world. As a Nutrition and Food Science major this class taught me valuable lessons and showed what I can do to help our current food system.

    Course highlights:

    I learned about the food system and how it effects our world as a whole. I learned its effect on individuals, the environment, and our economy. Three very different books were read throughout the course to ensure we were educated about the food system from multiple aspects.

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

    If one has an interest in food science, the food system, nutrition, dietetics, or simply wants to know how our food gets to the grocery stores take this class. It is very interested to learn the process of how one receives their food in depth.

    Course Overview:

    I would recommend this course to someone interested in the field of nutrition of fitness and wellness. It was informative about the different food cultures that we are surrounded by in our society. It gave me an understanding on how people eat according to their culture, backgrounds, traditions, religious beliefs among others. I found it valuable, and at the time I took this course it opened doors of communication to new people and friends.

    Different types of diets, types of foods, food traditions from different parts of the world.

    I would recommend to open their minds to eat different types of foods, and to interact with different cultures.
