Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Health Assessment is another requirement for the nursing program. Professor Johnson is an active practicing nurse, in fact she is a nurse practitioner who carries out assessments every day. She is helpful in sorting out what is in practice and what is not.

    Course highlights:

Assessment of the different bodily systems. We learned the normal findings and the abnormal findings. It does not go too in depth in terms of treatment but you will learn about that in Adult Health I and II. We practiced assessments on each other (classmates) and began using our skills in our clinical rotation at a nearby nursing home.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Follow along in class but also do the reading. She pulls a few of her questions straight from the reading. Ask questions, let her know who you are. Go to her office hours if you need it, she is very helpful.
