This class was tough.
Professor Bukiet runs the class in an unconventional way. He is lively, engaging, and interactive so you do not lose interest like many other lecture classes. He provides you with extra credit assignments, solutions to homework problems and exams afterwards so you can learn from your mistakes. He drops the few lowest lab reports and gives you the chance to increase your previous exam grades on the final. He is always available and takes pride in getting to know his students and making sure they do well.
I learned a lot about coding in matlab and Taylor Series. I know multiple ways to examine mathematical methods and how to apply all of this to the real world.

Advice for students:
It was only tough because there is a lot of content and he gives lengthy homework assignments on top of a lab assignment each week, but it is worth it and definitely doable. Make study groups!!! It helps tremendously when you discuss concepts with other students. Also, start assignments early and meet with the teacher's assistant for assistance with lab assignments. Study homework problems and exams from previous semesters as he puts similar questions on his exams for you.
