    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Psychology is my major, it is my passion but with this specific teacher, I felt like I didn't learn much. He was very all over the place, telling us stories about his personal life rather than teaching the actual lessons. The notes we took in class were all on power points, they were confusing and if you had missed a class and went online to look over the power point, you would not have understood what you missed at all. He didn't give any form of extra credit and never helped or answered any of my questions. His tests were extremely difficult and nothing like the study guides he provided us. He also would not answer questions you had for the study guides. I made 125 flash cards for the final exam with definitions he had provided us throughout the semester, and on the exam the definitions and examples were completely different. The course itself is already pretty challenging, but with this specific professor, it was much more difficult than needed to be.

    Course highlights:

Aside from the negative things, there were many positives! I learned a lot about the human mind and the different parts of the mind. We did many group labs one of which helped you figure out if you were more right brain vs. left brain. Working together in groups really helped especially since the material was so difficult. Although tests were hard, he did tell us many weeks in advance when the tests would be so you had the chance to prepare.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

General Psychology is a requirement if you are looking to enter the field of psychology. I think the most important thing when considering this course is looking for the right professor. You will not be able to learn much or enjoy the course without a great professor!
