    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is excellent for self starting students with interests outside of the main areas of study. You get to chose an area of study and pursue it through research, experimentation, and adventure.

    Course highlights:

I studied the statistical analysis of language development in groups and how it effects man's interactions with one another. You choose the difficulty of this course.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Choose something attainable. Have some physical experience in your area of interest.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course improved my writing skills beyond any other course I have taken as an undergrad student.

    Course highlights:

You are challenged with bridging the gap between theories, factual studies, and your own personal ideas.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Ask questions to gain clarity, and develop an outline starting on day one. This will help with organization and ease once you begin your final.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was the perfect way to wrap up my degree. I was able to study more in-depth in a subject I loved as well as meet my final graduation requirements.

    Course highlights:

This is a course in which you choose the topic you'd like to study. As a music major, I had the opportunity to do a creative project along with my final paper. I was able to compose music as well as write about the process of composition. It was a great experience in practice my musical skills and documenting my process.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Choose a topic you love! You're going to be going in-depth into your subject, so choose something that interests you. Be prepared to do a lot of writing, and stay on schedule so that it doesn't become overwhelming.
