    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Music theory is the understanding of written music, and it provides a language for composers and musicians to communicate with each other.

    Course highlights:

This course opened my eyes to a world that I never knew existed in any sort of formal or organized manner. My assumptions about music composition were way off. I learned that composers use written symbols to communicate how they would like their music played by the musicians.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Brush up on your math and have an open and optimistic approach. Do not be surprised on the difficulty and the reward of making sense of all the musical theories.
