    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it's fun and you get to learn about music from about the 1300's to now in modern time! You get to listen to beautiful pieces by famous composers in history. One requirement for the course was to go to 5 concerts and to write a one page essay about each concert, I didn't mind this because I loved the concerts. There is tons of extra credit opportunities in the course I took. The class is never boring so if you are a music lover, I would suggest this class.

    Course highlights:

I gained really good knowledge about the history of music. I learned about many composers and their stories, specifically composers like Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, Mozart and tons more. I learned about different types of music, Gregorian Chants, Classical, Romantic and Modern. I also learned about how music has changed through out history.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The book is the only thing that helped me ace this course! The way I aced this course was to read and take notes and study those notes before the exam. The reading is pretty long but it's not dense at all, it's very easy to understand.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Gillis is a nice guy, but he is not the best teacher.

    Course highlights:

I did not learn much in this class, honestly.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't take it unless you know composers really well.
