    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Historians and History is perhaps the worst class I have taken at NMSU. The class was poorly structured, with assignment due dates shifting and being unclear. The bulk of the assignments felt unrelated to the massive 20-page paper assignment the class culminated to. The teacher gave little to no guidance on the actual paper and instead left all the work of improving the paper to the student run Writing Center. Then, the professor was absent for the final presentations of the papers to give feedback, making the experience cheap and pointless.

    Course highlights:

If you are very interested in New Mexico's history after 1950, then you may take something away from this course. However, for me, it skipped past the most interesting period of New Mexico's history.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The class is a lot of reading and sitting in a two and a half hour discussion about the readings. If you can, get it in a semester with a different teacher, such as Malamud, as many of my problems stemmed from the teacher.
