Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
I would recommend Karatas because he is enthusiastic about teaching, and he is very patient with slow learners.
Course highlights:
I learned how to study while he was my professor. He explained to me the importance of mastering the material versus just memorization.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
If you are considering this course, please understand that the material is difficult, and you will have to study. However, if you have any questions, Dr. Karatas is very responsive, and very good at breaking down the material.
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
This course is required for many engineering majors, so I would recommend it be taken as soon as possible. It is also a prerequisite for Differential Equations.
Course highlights:
This course was Calculus 3, and honestly, I improved my algebra skills greatly while taking this course. Also, since this subject focuses mainly on series, my skills in identifying and classifying series, and most importantly, compartmentalizing a problem and solving smaller problems to find the final answer. In other words, I improved my skills in dismantling a problem and solving it from the ground up, regardless of the number of steps.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
The advice I could to someone taking this course is take accurate notes, and leave plenty of space in your notes for annotation. Much of this course is identifying and proving, so write your notes as if it were a checklist. Then separately, write each proving process.
