    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

In my field, there's not much of a choice on whether or not to take this course. If you can help it, take it with someone like Waldron or Hosch. Attard's a great guy and researcher and all but his class structure along with the way he prepares students for tests, leaves a lot to be desired. I made it out of this class by the seams of my pants and a lot of people unfortunately did not make it through. But if you must take it, please take it very seriously.

    Course highlights:

Attard is a pretty nice guy, so his classes can be pretty interesting. He will get distracted at times, and sometimes not at an appropriate time.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Use his office hours to grill him about particular examples. He's not strong on testing based on concepts so understanding practical information will take you farther. Also, don't be afraid to use solution manuals to study.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course provided the strong base knowledge required for the civil engineering curriculum. Being an entry level course, it taught the base knowledge in a way that was easy to comprehend to continue to build on in further courses.

    Course highlights:

This course taught the methods of determining static equilibrium for multiple, common structures found in the civil engineering field. There were multiple methods taught for solving the issues which allowed for students to find a method that works best for them.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you work out the nightly homework thoroughly. If you don't have a strong base knowledge for these problems, you will struggle greatly throughout the course. Also, do not underestimate the time you need for he course. Study the homework problems for the tests and take advantage of office hours.
