Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is a great introductory course to business. In this course, you will explore the different types of business options, the financial and marketing field of businesses, ways to start a business and to target a specific demographic or population of customers and so much more. This course also gives you the opportunity to start your own business. You generate ideas, form a group, develop an idea, and create a business plan and presentation that you will eventually be presenting to your class, the other classes, and even other business professional in your business industry.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the different aspects of business. What had before seemed an extremely vague, unconquerable concept has been diluted and broken down into a diverse, myriad of opportunities and choices. This course opened my eyes to how ingrained and involved business is in our everyday lives. Everything we do, big or small, is business. I learned a lot about the legal, financial, marketing, industrial, technical, and economical components of creating, developing, running, and maintaining a successful business. I also learned a lot about international business, which is something I am interested in pursuing as a career. There are many steps to forming and just starting s business, and in this class, our project was starting a business and creating a product/good/service to pitch to other businessmen to garner investments and loans. I learned a lot about how companies interact with one another domestically and internationally, and I learned about how integral each individual is in a business.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The biggest advice I would give is to read the chapters before walking into class. Prepare any questions you may have, learn important vocabulary, and be familiar with the concept and information. This will allow you to participate in more fruitful and interesting discussion where you can discover new things and answer questions. Being knowledgeable in the topic before class will help you in the long run. Another piece of advice I would give is to just do everything as soon as you get it. Do not push things off to the next day, because there will be too many things to do and not enough time to do it.
