Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it’s an exciting class. Especially with this professor she does not make it hard to pass. Her class recitation is an extended class that she uses as a study/ tutor session which I love.

    Course highlights:

I like how you learn about the basics of life. My favorite part is the lab because it’s very hands on and you get to see how precise and accurate results you can receive from mixing solutions and allowing natural processes to occur.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

As all courses you must study the material outside of the class and take advantage of tutoring.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course focuses on the general principles of chemistry. Prof. Sironi is very thorough and easy to follow. He uses power point slides, which makes understanding much easier. Recitation is optional, but the problems he goes over are very similar to ones on the tests so it is helpful. He also provides an exact break down of his grading spreadsheet, making it easy to anticipate your grade.

    Course highlights:

The specific topics of this course are atoms/molecules, stoichiometry and conversion of measurements, aqueous reactions, thermochemistry, quantum mechanical model of the atom, gasses, chemical bonding, properties of elements and intermolecular forces/solutions.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The Mastering Chemistry homework was a waste of time - very much busy work. But do it! The points you will lose by skipping assignments can knock you from an A to a B+. Be prepared to study most days of the week.
