    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Though the material can be difficult to understand, the textbook explains everything really well! Also, if you go to office hours, the professor basically reteaches everything and it is much easier to understand. The days before the test she gives out questions that are very similar to those on the exam! Easiest way to get an A!

    Course highlights:

I learned so much in this course, not only is it the foundation to Organic 2 but it is also critical to all of the MCAT studying I am doing.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Actually pay attention in lecture! Do all of the homework, make sure you understand it! What you don't understand, look up in the textbook! Go to office hours! Do the whole practice exam!

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to those who appreciate a challenge, because trust me this course was tough. However, it taught us how serious college is and the amount of work that needs to be devoted to a successful college career cannot be compromised. It even helped prepare us for more challenging courses we can take in the future.

    Course highlights:

We started with the basics of organic chemistry, learning the different functional groups (alkane, alkene, alkyne, aromatic rings etc.) to more advanced chapters. In the advanced chapters we learned that whatever we learned in previous chapters led up to the current material and that the material will continue to build up on each other. Therefore, what I took from that class is that it is sort of like a network of chapters starting from the basics moving onto carbohydrates, amino acids, esters, all leading to the final chapters where we explored the inner workings of the human body. We studied DNA, RNA etc along with the extensive and challenging journey and process of glycolysis.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Try not to sacrifice any possible study time for this course. When studying, study with an active mind willing to learn, understand and really absorb the material as you read, study and make notes. Use the homework assignments as a tool to help you understand the material and help you understand the topics you need to really focus on.
