    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Absolutely best decision I've ever made to take this class. It's a six week course and I started off unsure of what I should do for a major; taking this course really enlightened me. Highly recommend people to take a creative writing course to either expand their minds, or to improve their writing skills. This class is about using our technical skills to cultivate our thoughts, opinions, creativity, and our writing in general. It's a very short course so I spent a lot of time during the week revising in tandem with studying for my ten (?) week Biology course (it was a long summer). While studying for Biology was long and dreadful, revising my papers for this class was like an escape. I loved it. Take it what you will, I definitely do not regret taking this class. If I could, I would retake this class again.

    Course highlights:

I've gained a new skill in becoming more aware when it comes to my writing. My structure has improved and analysis became clearer to me. I've learned to express my thoughts exactly the way I wanted to, on paper. Writing is no longer dreadful-- It's a long yet rewarding process I'm excited to go through now. I've also been exposed to more writing styles with other students-- the workshopping process was great for someone who's pretty shy. Everyone was thoughtful and detailed in their comments and really helpful.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be aware that writing isn't a short and easy process. It's ok to get frustrated and stuck (it's normal), but keep going. My professor told me to just keep writing and I eventually got out of writer's block. Writing comes first, revisions come later. Just spill those thoughts onto paper. Take a gander at your surroundings and draw any wild inspiration you can-- it's all what we did.
