Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course helps students develop professional social work attitudes, behaviors, and communication skills by intense social research. It further helps us to develop a strong intellectual foundation of analytical skills and research methods to understand the existing knowledge and develop new models of professional intervention. By using research evidence to inform practice it became a good strategy in enhancing social and economic justice.

    Course highlights:

I have gained self-awareness to eliminate the influence of personal biases and values in working with diverse groups in my developing my social research methods. I was able to understand the forms and mechanisms of oppression and discrimination and can simply point them out in any research articles. I was able to understand more in the person and environment concept by using the right skills in assessment, intervention, and evaluation. Throughout doing my research I was able to use empathy and other interpersonal skills.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up with the readings that are assigned each week in class. Participate and ask questions regarding social research so it can be a easy task when conducting your own research.
