Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Howard Rodgers is very humorous and understanding of any mishaps.

    Course highlights:

I actually learned and retained information of Aristole's Poetics.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep an open mind when you are writing. Written sarcasm can actually be appreciated, so go wild!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I personally am not a huge fan of poetry, but this course was heavily involved in it. I didn't struggle much and I managed to get an A out of the class. if you love getting into the depths of poetry, then this class is great.

    Course highlights:

Although poetry is not exactly my forte, I loved going in depth with each poem we read. it helped me understand what the poet meant and how/she may have been feeling when they wrote it. it gave me an insight on them that I never fully understood.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I cannot stress enough, read the poems and short stories more than once! It make take four tries before you understand what is going on and that' s perfectly okay. Sometimes I could read a poem multiple times and still not have clue what was going on and would have to ask my teacher to elaborate on it or work with a friend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would totally recommend taking this class your senior year. Mrs. Johnson challenges and encourages us to dig deeper in our research and not "take it easy" our senior year.

    Course highlights:

I love the research and investigating I am doing for my paper. Also, at the same time we are doing research we are also focusing on poetry literature analysis and short stories.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do NOT procrastinate or wait until the last second. Do small things to stay ahead and prioritize your assignments with your scholarship essays and applications.
