This class was tough.
Course Overview:
I would recommend this course to people looking to continue onto higher level math. I took this course through the advanced studies program at my high school that allows students to take college classes that will transfer to other SUNY schools. I thought this course was challenging, but very important and if I didn't take it I know I would be completely lost in the AP Calculus course I'm taking this semester. I personally like math and so I found this course interesting and manageable.
Course highlights:
The first half of the semester was a lot of expanding on the math concepts I learned in Algebra 2 Trigonometry, but the second half was all brand new material that I am now using in Calculus. Learning the new material was very difficult especially conics, but after lots of practice problems and studying I eventually mastered each unit.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
I would tell students who want to take any higher level math in college to take this course for sure. It may be difficult at the time but it will be very worth it when you have the knowledge for future years. I would also tell other students not to be afraid to ask lots of questions and to study for tests and exams. Most students assume math is a class you can't really study for, but for Pre Calc. preparing for a test is very necessary!
