    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Poythress teaches very well! He interacts with his students at a level that is very easy to understand at times.

    Course highlights:

The sea urchin lab at the end of the semester was very interesting as well as fun. We breeder our own sea urchins for a short amount of time. This helped in expanding our knowledge of actual development of a species.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

PAY ATTENTION! Typically don't pay attention to the book required for the calls, besides some further explanation or definitions if needed. Look over the powerpoint once before the lecture as well as after the lecture. Take your time on the mastering biology online assignments. The points add up and try to get over 100 for a little extra credit. Try to avoid pulling all nighters with studying as well, it does not always go well for being that person.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is a fascinating course on cellular biology that gives insight into the basics of how organisms work. It is not easy, but if you love biology, it is amazing.

    Course highlights:

Learning about cell basics, metabolism, genetics, and the nervous system gave me real insight into the complexity of our body and the work of art that is life. Hands on experiences in lab were great ways to see that this is not just theoretical.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

It is not an easy course. You have to be willing to study. Go to the help sessions before tests. Pay attention to anything the professor highlights in class. Spread your study time out before exams. And have fun :)

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Doctor Ransom Poythress is an amazing man of God who shines His light in everything he does, that I can tell. He is wonderful in explaining things in a fun an understandable way, and truly cares about the wellbeing of his students both personally and academically

    Course highlights:

I loved how he related things back to God in a way that was both sincere and applicable. He was very helpful during any time where there was a complication or confusion

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be diligent. The course is not too difficult, but will get overwhelming with your other classes if you procrastinate and don’t study. This course is more time consuming
