    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course gives you a lot of general biology ground information. Depending on what professor you have, it will be either more plant/animal bio based or health based. Mine was definitely more plant/animal based with Sully.

    Course highlights:

I learned time management! There is a lot of reading that you need to keep up on in order to do well.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read ahead!! If you stay on top of the textbook reading, you will do well. If not, not so much.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a very difficult class. Dr. Poythress is a vert intelligent mind with great information to share however he is new to teaching at the moment so he does not quite know how to communicate with his students as much.

    Course highlights:

I learned all about cellular respiration. This course is a very good introduction to what you will be eventually learning in the future within the science department.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Stop and ask questions! The second something does not make sense, stop him and ask! Even if it is in the middle of lecture, ASK! Don't be afraid of failure!

    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Being a bio major, of course I loved taking General Biology 2 : Cellular Bio+Genetics. The human body is a fascinating place. I love everything about biology. I understand it, I find the material applicable outside of the classroom, and I just love to learn.

    Course highlights:

I loved the viruses section. Although it was short, It was neat to be able to get a small glimpse into these powerful microorganisms and see how they work. One particular thing I learned was about their different shapes and how some viruses have a "host range" meaning that they can only "infect" or "invade" certain organisms, or certain areas/ cells of certain organisms. It was great!! I can't wait to further my education in biology.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention in class. Although there may be slides online, it's still very important to show you care by listening in class, and also because there may be things said not on the power points. I would have to also say that making sure you do your assignments is key.
